TAURUS FULL MOON

Severing the final ties with the old reality. Making space for a new world.

TAURUS FULL MOON // November 15th, 2024

Greetings, my friends,

Before I begin, I have to make you aware that this was another big one, and therefore, I have broken it into two emails—check your inbox for horoscopes. I hope you enjoy.

This full moon is a pivotal one, a lunation that we will likely look back upon far from now and acknowledge how it was a launching pad for many new chapters that we are soon venturing into. Pluto is spending just a few more days in Capricorn—it will never touch the territory of Capricorn ever again from November 19th onward, which means that these next few days are a climactic closing of a very long cycle. While Pluto’s activations cannot usually be noticed through singular experiences, we can observe the overarching theme that it infuses into our lives over a long period of time, and because of this, we may be observing how we have transformed through the themes of the house that Capricorn governs over the past sixteen years. These changes are quite powerful and noticeable to us now, but across the past decade and a half, there have perhaps been many moments in which we felt like the work we were doing wasn’t contributing to something bigger or more meaningful—there may have been moments in which we wondered, especially in the past six years or so, “Is this all going to be worth it someday?”

This moon calls us back to the Aquarius full moon that happened just a few months ago on August 19th, a moon that was involved in a T-square formation with Uranus at the apex. This moon is conjunct Uranus, but while the Aquarius full moon occurred during Uranus’s direct motion, this moon is happening alongside a retrograde Uranus, meaning that there are likely interior matters that we are being asked to release—emotional, energetic, and psychic attachments. This, in my opinion, is one of the most important full moons of the year, as it is the last full moon under the influence of Pluto in Capricorn, which makes it like a simultaneous purge of any remaining attachments that were established under the influence of Pluto in Capricorn, but also a celebration of the immense amount of work we have all done in 2024. This year has not been easy for many of us, as it has heavily focused on releasing, letting go, accepting “what is,” and prioritizing authenticity and alignment, although prioritizing these things has perhaps urged us to let go of things that we want to be aligned with us even if they truthfully are not. While we may have physically released something with the August full moon or may have let go of the bulk of something energetically, this moon offers us space to explore any lingering attachments that may be hiding within us so that we might fully set ourselves free from the past iterations of our lives.

We are intentionally exploring attachment in this full moon, but because Pluto is in the final moments of Capricorn, there is something far more symbolic in the alignments of this lunation. Pluto can symbolize the baseline energetic foundations and principles that our lives are built upon, and when it changes signs, these foundations undergo a significant deconstruction and rebuilding process. Pluto governs empires; all empires rise and fall, and so do the mini “empires” that different parts of our lives are. The sign that Pluto is transiting can describe the basic energetic mechanics that our world operates through and, on a smaller scale, is like the proverbial energetic soil that our lives are planted into. The sign that Pluto is in will dictate the chemical makeup and nutritional structure of that “soil,” so when it changes signs and, by default, the fundamental properties of the soil change with it, not all the things that have been growing in said soil may survive in the new conditions. However, because Aquarius is the innovator, we may notice that some of the things that have seemingly “died” will adapt and spring up in our lives once again in a different season. However, for them to bloom again, we must completely detach from what they once were; we must allow them to fully fall away.

HERE’S THE BIG PICTURE

Taurus is the fixed Earth sign, meaning that it values dependability, loyalty, predictability, and methodical progress. The fixed archetypes like to see things through; they value consistency and development and are typically the most stubborn and inflexible, but this can be beneficial when it comes to working through problems, as they are determined to overcome any obstacles they encounter. The earth signs are the most dense energetically, meaning that their energy intends to ground us into the 3D world so we might remain connected to our humanness even in the face of highly spiritual, emotional, or philosophical experiences. We rely upon the earth archetypes to root us into our physical bodies and also translate concepts into tangible terms—the earth signs can help us make things make more sense by providing them with physical representation. While the earth signs are necessary to ground us so that we don’t “float away” in the pursuit of understanding our inherent spiritual, energetic nature, these signs can also describe how we may prevent ourselves from being more spiritually embodied, as they can illuminate how we may cling to the physical world and that which is immediately in front of us. Each element in the zodiac has its light and shadow side, so we must not think of one sign or element as better or worse than another—they each serve a contributing purpose to the wholeness of our experience. That said, Taurus specifically describes to us how we may physically cling to things in order to feel secure and safe, which may translate over to a multitude of different things for us individually.

In the context of this full moon and the additional planetary influences involved (Uranus conjunct the moon, Mars positively aspecting both the nodes, and Jupiter and Chiron in a sextile to one another), we are made aware of the irony of our attachment to things that we want. As I shared above, this full moon calls back to the Aquarius full moon in August, which likely had something significant in our lives ending or being taken from us—we may have not had a choice in staying or leaving; it likely was just pulled out of our experiences. That moon also happened right before Pluto shifted back into Capricorn, and considering this full moon is happening mere days before Pluto is back in Aquarius again—this time for good—we may find ourselves being asked to purge any lingering attachments to the subject of the Aquarius full moon. As we are immersed in this full moon’s energy, we may be feeling a fear of fully letting go of the matters we attach security to—the matters being addressed may be things, situations, or people that have felt like a rock keeping us grounded amidst the pool of uncertainty and transformation Pluto’s transition has surrounded us in. The past six months or so have been about letting go of the “old world,” the old lives we constructed upon the principles of Pluto in Capricorn. As these old structures have fallen, one by one, there have likely been a select few things that feel deeply familiar, comfortable, and safe to us that we have sought out to provide us with a tangible sense of normality.

We have reached the point of our transformation where we are recognizing that we have outgrown the old life, and we also may be at a point within ourselves where we genuinely don’t want the old life, even if there are things or people from that life that we still yearn for. Many of us likely feel very ready for and are deeply desiring the “new reality” that we are perhaps quite energetically aware is on the horizon. However, complete transformation requires us to surrender our whole being—we cannot conditionally metamorphosize. Because of this, this moon asks us to release lingering attachments to the things that have provided us security, and upon our doing so, we may feel as if we’re drastically launched into a new life, one that feels deeply aligned, expansive, evolution-oriented, and authentic. The new life is 99% loaded, and the thing preventing that final 1% from being completed is our attachment to a specific desired future. We may find that we have been agreeing to transform if it means we will get to a specific outcome, and while some of us may feel quite a strong intuitive sense that a certain future is ahead of us, our attachment to it being this one way is the very thing restricting the completion of our transformation.

Our fixation on “knowing” what the outcome of unresolved or open-ended present matters is tethering us to the old life that we’ve worked so hard to evolve beyond and leave behind. This moon addresses how attachment is the root of all suffering. It points out how clinging to the corpse of what has proverbially died will not bring it back, no matter how badly we may want it to. There may be matters that we intensely desire to be involved in the future we are moving into, but if we actually want them to be a viable possibility in our lives, we must allow the versions of them that we knew them to be to “die” so that they may be reborn in the new world, just as we will be. Our attachment to what we once had is the very thing preventing us from potentially reuniting with that which we desire. This moon is an urgent invitation to trust fall into the arms of the universe—once we let go, we may be pleasantly surprised by just how much the universe has our best interest in mind, and how it has had our highest good in mind all along.

This moon is like a question from God—it asks, “What if what I have in store for you is better than what you can presently fathom?” We may think that we know what we want, and because we are so certain of this, we may be fixating on acquiring it, but this fixation may unintentionally close us off to other experiences that could be more fulfilling, rewarding, and supportive of our authenticity. While we may not want to admit it to ourselves, there may be things that we have yet to experience that will surpass our expectations tenfold, things that may or may not involve the matters that we are trying to hang onto. This moon does not say that we will never have the objects of our desires ever again—whether this is a physical object, a person, or something else that feels familiar to us. These things could very well re-enter our lives at a later date, but we must let go of what we have known them to be; we must allow the old versions of them to “die,” so that perhaps in the future, we may re-meet them again as strangers. We must set these things free so that they may also transform, just as we are.

You may not be able to presently conceptualize it, but if the thing you are being asked to let go of is not meant to return to you, there is something that will be far more fulfilling, rewarding, aligned, and heart-centered. We must stop trying to force things to stay or work in our lives any longer. Pluto in Capricorn operated through the idea of, “I can make this work, and so I must—despite my dissatisfaction, I don’t want to risk never having this again, so I must make it fit.” Pluto in Aquarius is far different; it asks more questions: “Why should I make this work just because I can? If I experienced [insert desired feeling] before, who’s to say I won’t encounter it again, even if it may not be through this physical thing? Why should I force things when I can just allow them to be as they are?”

Set it free. Let it go. Honor it by releasing your attachment to it so that it may pursue its own authenticity and path of evolution. If things are meant to be, they will be, and there is nothing you can do or not do to make them be how they are meant to. Ultimately, the best way to show our love for something or someone is by releasing our need to control it. What is meant for you will never pass you by, and I affirm that so sincerely. When you set the matters you’re attached to free, you set yourself free; you grant yourself permission to evolve, expand, and move without restriction, as there is nothing you are performing for and no one you are trying to please or impress. The earth signs can have the hardest time letting go, as they may fear never having the things they want again, but we must look beyond the physical representation and acknowledge the energetic state that these things symbolize. When we focus on the energy, we open ourselves to experiencing that energy through many more different streams than we may be aware are possible. Love wears many faces. Fulfillment exists in many forms. Success holds many definitions. And while we may feel partial to the familiar streams we’ve experienced these things through previously, we cannot deny their existence elsewhere. Let go of what you think is best for you and how you think present open-ended questions are meant to be answered—the universe is always on your side, and things will always align with your best interest in mind. Don’t doubt that for a second.
